In case you hadn’t noticed, here is an example as to why we are in the shit globally, a clear indication that our priorities are ass backwards, and why we seem to be failing miserably as a species in this new millennium……

This reported by CNN;

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (CNN) — South Africa has refused the Dalai Lama a visa to attend an international peace conference in Johannesburg this week, a presidential spokesman said. The Tibetan spiritual leader and Nobel Laureate did not receive a visa because it was not in South Africa’s interest for him to attend, said Thabo Masebe.

South Africa thinks that, if the Dalai Lama attended the conference, the focus would shift away from the 2010 World Cup — the global soccer championship it will host next year.

Holygoodhellmotherfucker.

While the west ignores Africa who has been building strong trade relationships in Africa?

China.

Good on China for reaching out, developing trade, becoming part of the global economic community, and all that jazz. But “boooo” to South Africa for essentially censoring Tibet to appease the Chinese.

Soccer games are just a smoke screen so they don’t have to admit the real reason.

Dusty Says:

Christ, what raving-fucking-idiots. Politics as usual.

Bon Don Says:

the global soccer championship? really!??

Wow.

This isn’t about china and football as the headlines claim, this is about the dalai lama. Perhaps some populations object to the dalai lama going around SELLING peace on the basis of a ‘new world order’ and promoting himself as a capitalist with ‘war in iraq necessary for a greater good’, ‘(regarding politics) has to go according to global trend’, and bush supporter (his words were ‘two old friends’), etc. Perhaps those google phrases ‘dalai lama a cia tool’ and ‘dalai lama illuminati puppet’ aren’t mere psychobabble. Perhaps the picture of him and bush shaking hands should make you shake your head. Many conflicts in africa are due to grassroots struggle to protect their land and resources (aka survival) from exploit by multinationals. Are you suggesting they stop putting up such a struggle, listen to the dalai lama and hand over their resources nicely? Peace is only a valid noble cause for the right people for the right reason and for the right price. As a method to pacify a public for political and economical gain of corporation… that’s just wrong. Holygoodhellmotherfucker, What’s your next blurb going to be, kissinger is your bf?
++Please read deeper than the headlines and try to keep an open mind… or i’ll take you off my freakin’ christmas list… kimba

Dave Says:

If I was the Dalai Lama I wouldn’t attend the world cup either. 8wned

Kim Says:

@Joey- Obviously it isn’t about football…. (Speaking of “read deeper” hint- take your own advice)The fact that you’ve taken this post and postulated that the next logical step be “Kissinger is my best friend” means that I have taken myself off of your Christmas list. The Dalai Lama selling a “new world order” wtf? Seriously? Where do you get your material? “Conspiracy theorist are us?”

Kim Says:

@Dave- Even with really good seats?
;)

Yeah, you’re right. That was a little too much all at once. *grin* Baby steps.

Well, most other countries call the game with the ball and the feet football, it’s kind of a north american thing to call it soccer; I was just playing on the words a little to catch those who were watching but not really paying attention.

Ok, so i’m an ass. I live with it. –But hey, you warned me not to flood your site with too much crap, so i made attempt at an explanation over on my humble site, take a peek if curiosity gets the best of you.
