Summer is hitch hiking south for the winter

Summer is hitch hiking south for the winter

There is no denying it’s September and living in the “semi desert” means cold mornings. Putting away the flip flops & pulling out the jacket for Maggi’s early walk. By noon though we’re perfectly comfortable sitting on the beach in shorts and wading into the water. It’s a weird time of year that requires two wardrobes and the ability to pull out the flannel & wool socks at a moments notice. The pear & peach trees in my neighbourhood are heavy with ripe fruit and the smell of freshly mowed grass still takes up the whole afternoon. In the mornings though, sweater clad & warming my hands on the coffee mug as we walk and Don Henley’s “Boy’s of Summer” fading into the background, it’s obvious that summer has left the building.

Stever Says:

Don Henley’s “boys of summer” has to be one of the most classic of classic memorable summer songs ever. Iconic even.

Phaedra Says:

Sumer used to be my favourite time of year, but now I nominate fall. It’s a time of change. Cooler evenings, and more bearble days. And I love when the leaves change colour.

As for wardrobe…miniskirt/shorts with leg warmers. Oh yeah!

Kim Says:

Fall has always been and will always be my fav. Sweaters & scarves and soup under a blanket. Fall makes you want to hold hands and is the most delicious smelling of all seasons.
(Oh, and Phaedra, it IS the leg warmers!)
